Trump is the future of the Republican Party
Many have speculated out loud that the Republican Party is no longer the party of Donald Trump and those people are wrong. In a Politico-Morning Consult poll, 54% of Republicans indicated they plan to support Trump if he runs for the Presidency in 2024. Coming in second is former Vice President Mike Pence who garnered only 12% of the support of the party.
That is shocking, a man twice impeached, accused of insurrecting a riot on the Capitol is the most popular Republican politician in the country. Donald Trump speaks to a group of our society that is deeply skeptical of modern day politicians and supports him over the party. This idea that he would be forgotten and left behind, was to me always nonsense, but glad to see that the numbers back it up.
Trump is the most popular politician in the country, people love him and yes people hate him. But it is always better to garner some type of emotion, than to be indifferent. He will be the face of the Republican Party until he is too old or too incapable of being elected. There is no one in the country that garners the same type of emotion, same type of following and as a result he in my opinion will be the leading candidate on the right side of the aisle in 2024.
I will honestly say he will not win, simply because he has caused so much damage and he insights exhaustion on both sides of the aisle, meaning he will lose a big landslide election again. Another issue for him will be to garner the same type of attention he gained the last time, considering he has been purged from social media. He will not have a megaphone to rely on the next time, but he will not go anywhere, as he will soon start holding rallies and garnering the attention of his loyal supporters.
