Bill Maher and Megyn Kelly
My thoughts on Megyn Kelly and Bill Maher from his show last night. Kelly talked about removing her children from a school that was forcing her kids to listen to transgender information and being inundated with critical race theory issues and curriculum. Her two boys were 6 and 8 I believe she stated in the interview and that is why she removed them from that school.
Having only information that she stated on the show, the comments she made was that the information on transgender issues was an attempt to recruit her children to change their identity. Having not been in that room I can only imagine she was exaggerating that point, as I don’t think those who speak on transgender issues are trying to recruit new people to change identities. What I think happened is that Kelly and her husband felt uncomfortable with the conversation due to the age of the children and opposed on that level. Plus it’s a new phenomenon so it will take time for many of us to adjust to. I can understand that schools want to treat all students equally and want them to feel comfortable at school, so they were more than likely attempting to have them be inclusive and to make sure students did not bully them.
The second controversial thing she addressed was the school teaching her students critical race theory and exposing her children to racism and classism issues early in the pre-middle school years. She referenced a teacher having her children write a letter to the Cleveland Indians franchise to explain to them how they were offended by the name. Now this is confusing because why would you have children that young write letters to the Cleveland Indians about a subject that is not personally important to them at that age.
To talk about issues such as slavery and issues on that level I think is appropriate at a young age, but not inundating them with things that you believe is important to you as a teacher is not right. I don’t see the relevance in talking about the nickname of a sports team in this day and age other than to sound “woke”. Focusing on topics that are important and understated such as slavery, racism and those things is the right thing to do, but you don’t need to do the woke semantics of it.
Megyn Kelly has a history of racist issues and racist ideology so I think she was just upset at the school she sends her kids to was a little bit too liberal.
